Phi Phi

Being on Phi Phi island days, and hours blur into one. Part of the greatness of Phi Phi is that there is no rush and no worry. We were able to just relax and do what we wanted when we wanted. The food was also so delicious!!! I now have a new love for curry and tom yum soup. We went to the restaurant almost every day that we were on the island because we loved the food so much! However there customer service was terrible. We had been so many times and they knew who we were but never acknowledged us any different. Plus they gipped us on wine not once but everynight we went there. We would always leave as wonder why we went there until we got hungry again and wanted there amazing food haha. Another great thing about Phi Phi is that they have fresh fruit and great fruit smoothies for cheap sold by stands on the road.

On one of the days we decided to do something with our day than eat, sleep and relax/ shop. We decided to go on a tour to Phi Phi Leh, which is the island right off of Phi Phi don which is were we stayed. The tour brought us to monkey bay ( which we could get off at because the tide was so high so we saw the monkeys from the boat as they climbed the rock walls), manly beach (where the movie the beach was filmed), and a beautiful cove.
Monkey Bay:
The monkeys were in the water grabbing the fruit people were throwing at them from the boats.
Then we went and swam in the most beautiful bay, aqua water, and large cliffs all around you. Then to add to the beauty eagles fly over head.

We also passed the entrace to a water cave, people acturally live in these caves. They are called sea gypsy's. They have scafolding on the caves to get up high and to get to the birds nests. Apparently the nests sell for a lot of money, i guess to make birds nest soup which is a delicousy and very expensive. Our guide told us sea gypsy's have been around for thousands and thousands of years doing the same thing and they take it very serious. if anyone steps into there cave they would shoot them.
After we headed into this beautiful cove, where eagles flew overhead. We got out and swam in the water here. Then made our way to snorkle. Where we saw all kindas of fish. So many of them!
After the snorkling and cove we went to Maya Beach. This is where the movie The Beach is flimed. We were so tired for some reason we barely explored the island, even though we should of because we paid $100 baht to be on the island.
After Maya Bay we went to cliff jump. It was lightly raining as we left Maya Bay, but on the way to cliff jump it got so much worse. It started to down pour, then lightening and thunderstorming. As we aproached the cliff, everyone put on there shoes. I was in shock that we were going to jump off the cliff in the weather. It didn't seem safe at all. In the states there is no way the tour would continue, but since its Thailand we all got off the boat and into the water. At this point the rain started to pick up. I am just glade i was able to climb the slippery rock wall without getting hurt. Me and one other guy got to the top first. He jumped first then me. I felt like i was in the air free falling for so long! It  was so fun but hitting the water kinda hurt, lets just say i wasn't down for a second jump. After I jumped i was amazed on how much the storm picked up! The waves were pretty big and the rain was heavily down pouring around us. Jess jumped right after me and me her and the guy who jumped in before me all treaded water, confused because we could barely see the cliff anymore or the boat! However we could make out that the boat was circling us. All we wanted to do was get back on the boat. It seemed like it took forever for the boat to turn itself around and pick us up. Finally we all got onto the boat tired from treading water in the storm haha. At least the water was so warm, warmer than the air. We got on the boat and waited for the others to jump and get on the boat. I can honestly say i dont remember ever being out side in a storm that bad. We were on this little rickety boat with this crazy storm around us.
Once we were all on the boat our guide acturally asked if we wanted to wait the storm out and see plankton at night or go back. I was super bsad to not see plankton but i knew we should head back. Everyone decided to head back in. Thank god we did because as we started to head back in a loud thunder clapped in the clouds, you could feel it throughout your body, then a huge bolt of lightening followed it. I am not sure how close it was to us all i know is that there was a bright light that consumed everything around us. It was so bright it seemed like it was right infront of us. Once we got back Jess and I went to our room and cleaned up for dinner. Thankful we survived the storm. The streets were all flooded as well on our walk back. I get why its called monsoon season now haha.
Below is what Plankton looks like at night, i am still sad we missed this.
Phi Phi also had the best food. Jess and I often visited a place called Tom Yum. They had great food but terible customer service. We went there every day and we always walked away saying how bad there customer service was, but because we loved the food so much we always went back.
Our next few days there we just relaxed and enjoyed Phi Phi, whether we just shopped around or went to the beach. One of the days we went to Long beach its on the other side of the island and like a 30-4 minute walk there through the beach and jungle.
bungalows set in the jungle but with an ocean view, so pretty!
Huge beetle!
This is the child of the owner of the place we stayed haha he was so adorable and so funny! Jess and I called him the King, he had his parents and everyone wrapped around his little meaty finger haha. He was always crying or winning. If he wasn't doing that he was eating. the best part is one night he was getting his haircut right in the entrance to the building haha. When we came back down stairs they gave him a mullet haha literally so priceless!

Thanksgiving:
Thank god Jess and I were not affected by thanksgiving, since they don't celebrate it in thailand we were able to just forget about it. I definatly was missing some turkey and gravey, but laying on a beach in thailand i couldn't complain! I also had to go to the clinic and get follow up shots for rabies from the dog bit. that was also a nice distractor from thanksgiving. I had to get 8 shots at the clinic. They did 2 test shots to see if i would be allergic to the RIG booster then I needed 1 rabies vaccine and 3 RIG shots. The one RIG shot had to be dispersted around the wound 3 times in different areas. It sucked! Plus you could feel the shot and the fluid going in. The other 2 had to go in my butt :(
Which wasn't so fun, it also sucked because my insurance company was closed due to the holiday at home so I had to figure out how to pay the clinic since they only took cash! The ATM only let me take out so much in 24 hours so I couldn't take out all i needed and we ended up extending our stay a night. I finally went to the bank to get cash out. I was just happy I could walk everywhere because of all my back and forth to the ATM's, clinic and bank. The clinic was also holding on to my passport until i paid them in full. Needless to say it was an ordeal and i was so happy when it was over!

On our last day we decided to get a Thai message before we got on the boat. Jess got a message on her birthday and said it was great, however the one on our last day was anything but relaxing! It was such an experience! They are so rough haha! At one point she had me on my stomach with her knees on my hamstrings feet bent up in her arms and rocked me like a rocking horse.... i was trying not to cry and laugh at the same time haha! After she turned me arond had me sit up and sat behind me she pulled my arms back and kicked my back with her feet at the same time. We left more sore than when we got there haha. We left realizing we paid to get beat up. Let say we both woke up so sore the next day!

Then we left the great island of Phi Phi to head back to Phuket for 2 days before going to Koh Phangang.
